Country Monitoring Missions on the Implementation of the AU Campaign to End Child Marriage

With support from the UNICEF and UNFPA, the AUC conducted 15 Country Monitoring missions, 8 in 2022 ( Nigeria, Mauritania, Senegal, Niger, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique and 7  in 2023 ( South Africa, Uganda,  Madagascar, Kenya,  Seychelles , DRC and Tunisia), which aimed to establish the status and as a major outcome provided critical recommendations for accelerating the AUC campaigns’ national, sub-national and stakeholder level implementation to End Child Marriage and Saleema Initiative to End FGM.

The missions were led by the Special Rapporteur on Ending Child Marriage and colleagues from ACERWC and the unit. Summary reports for the 2022 missions can be found here
