The 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA,

High Level Side Events at the 78^th UN General Assembly: During the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA, the African Union Commission (AUC), with support from UNICEF, organized two high-level side events on September 18th and 19th, 2023. The events aimed to call for action and increase investment in evidence-based interventions aimed at empowering the African girl, traditional, faith-based and political leaders, as well as CSOs, to end child marriage, FGM and OCSEA by 2030. 

Over 15 senior-level representatives from various organizations, including UNICEF, UNFPA, UN OCHA, UNESCO, European Union, FCDO, the government of Zambia, World Vision, Child Fund, as well as grassroots CSOs such as Jesuit Services, Mtoto News-Kenya, and I am a Great Child Worldwide, reinforced their commitment to these calls to action for 2024.
